Lipid Newsletter October 2009: From Graz to Munich Dear Readers,
the
election in Germany is over and a new period of political
activity has started and we will realize the difference between
“before and after”. Now we are all looking forward to
meeting in three
weeks in Graz, but preparations for 2010 have already started: From the
21 - 24 November 2010 we will organize the 8th Euro
Fed Lipid Congress in Munich and will again experience the high and
constant level of scientific work in the field of lipids, oils and
fats. This congress will offer you an attractive programme and
I’m
pleased that my hometown Munich as a leading location for science and
technology has been chosen. Besides a fascinating scientific program
you can explore Munich and detect like a treasure seeker the cultural
and also gastronomic “nuggets” of this town. You can do
this on your
own account or in form of an organized guided tour. Anyway you should
not miss the opportunity to attend. I invite
you
(and your partners) cordially, also in the name of our congress
chairman Uwe Bornscheuer and the whole team, to attend the Euro Fed
Lipid Congress 2010 in Munich and – by the way – this is
also an active
way to strengthen the Euro Fed Lipid work for the future.

the Oils-Fats-Lipids Wiki (OFLWiki) of Euro Fed Lipid.
The OFLWiki serves
as a collection
of data and information about all kinds of Fats, Oils and Lipids. It is
made by and for the academic and industrial community of Lipid Science
and Technology.
Wikis (best known example:
Wikipedia) are written collaboratively by volunteers from all around
the world. Anyone with internet access can make changes to Wiki
articles.
Visitors do not need specialized
qualifications to contribute. The intent is to have articles that cover
existing knowledge, not create new knowledge (original research). This
means that people of all ages and cultural and social backgrounds can
write Wiki articles. Most of the articles can be edited by anyone with
access to the Internet, simply by clicking the edit this page link.
Anyone is welcome to add information, cross-references, or citations,
as long as they do so within the editing policies and to an appropriate
standard

| oils+fats 2009 runs smoothly – Number
of
visitors more than doubles
• 2,600 visitors attend
oils+fats 2009
• Fair more international than ever
• Exhibitors
and visitors extremely satisfied
The third oils+fats, the
International Trade Fair for the Production and Processing of Oils and
Fats made from Renewable Resources, closed a complete success with a
total of 2,600 visitors (2008: 1,200 visitors) from more than 90
countries (2008: 58 countries). The number of visitors more
than doubled compared to last
year.
