We are pleased to invite you to attend the 8th European Symposium on Plant Lipids
to be held in the City of Malmö
2-5th July 2017. Malmö can be reached conveniently by train or flights to Copenhagen and then a 20 min train trip
over the bridge connecting Sweden and Denmark.
The conference will take place at Scandic Hotel in the city center of Malmö, a bustling town where Swedish traditions
are fertilized by a large number of influences from the whole world (and the home of football star Zlatan Ibrahimović).
Apart from covering most recent achievements in both basic and applied Plant Lipid Science the conference will also cover
emerging topics related to lipids that have not been much covered in previous meetings, such as the role of lipids in
plant autophagy. Apart from invited speakers introducing the different sessions, short talks will be selected from submitted
abstracts in each session. There will also be a poster session with prestigious prices for two selected posters presented
by Ph.D. students.
We are sure that you will have both a social and a scientific rewarding two and a half day in Malmö and look forward
to seeing you there.

What's on in Ghent in September
the official webpage visit.gent.be
maintains an event calendar, which make it easier for you to plan your activities in Ghent in times when not attending
the lectures at the Euro Fed Lipid congress.
In mid September there are a number of very interesting exhibitions and also the Ghent Festival of Flanders is taking place.
During the Euro Fed Lipid congress Ghent becomes a music-lover’s Mecca. Hundreds of performers provide a varied mixture of classical,
jazz and world music.
It opens with the festive OdeGand. The streets alongside Ghent’s waterways overflow with music, animation, art and spectacle.
And to top it off: a sparkling firework display.
The details can be found here.
